OCAP Takes Back Cabbagetown

OCAP fought back against gentrification and the City's ongoing policy to push poor and, especially, homeless people out of the downtown core. On October 4th, we marched through the streets of Cabbagetown and made it clear that poor people who live in the neighbourhood and use services in the neighbourhood are staying in the neighbourhood.

Low income tenants and homeless people are being driven from central Toronto to make way for an oversupply of higher income housing. Public housing is being replaced by condos.

Disability Action
OCAP will be joining the Disability Action at MacDonald Block on its way to Queen's Park. If you have difficulty walking, need ASL interpretation or want to go there first click here.

On Wednesday, September 26, a broad coalition of community organizations, trade unions, health providers and low income people will be challenging Queen's Park to increase social assistance, raise the minimum wage and build affordable/social housing.
