No One Is Illegal!
May Day of Action
Rally and March | 2 May - 1pm
Meet: Sherbourne and Carlton
On April 2nd and 3rd, over 100 temporary and undocumented workers were attacked by armed border guards, dragged in to detention and are now being forcibly deported. On 2 May, thousands of us will say Enough!
Migrants, poor and working people; undocumented people and people of colour live in constant crisis in Canada, attacked daily. A crisis has always existed in Teesdale, in Regent Park, in farm fields, on factory floors and in hotel service areas.

Submitted by ocap on Mon, 03/20/2006 - 22:36.[Amir Hodhod, an Egyptian political dissident and active member of the Montreal community for 3 years, is facing deportation on April 5, 2006. We are calling on you to support him in his fight to remain in Canada by contacting officials to demand an immediate stay of deportation and that he be granted status in Canada. For more information about how you can help, please e-mail sansfrontieres@resist.ca]
My name is Amir Hodhod and I am 42 years old. I was born in the city of Mansoura on the banks of the Nile River in Egypt. My family is a member of the Coptic Christian minority, and I have one younger brother and one younger sister. I graduated as a pharmacist in 1990 from Mansoura University and moved to Cairo where I studied philosophy. Before I fled Egypt I was a writer, and I published articles in various secular, progressive and dissident magazines.
